Witness the unique Balti culture in Turtuk, ride Bactrian camels in Nubra, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Ladakh’s high-altitude desert.

Itinerary

DAY1

Upon arrival at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel to begin your Ladakh journey. The day is kept light to allow for proper acclimatization to the high altitude, giving you time to rest and adjust to the Himalayan environment. Later in the day, visit the serene Shanti Stupa, where panoramic views of Leh town and the surrounding mountains create a peaceful setting. You can then take a leisurely walk through the lively Leh Market, exploring local shops, handicrafts, and cafés before returning for an overnight stay in Leh.

DAY2

Begin your day in Hall of Fame, the Indian Army museum that offers a moving glimpse into the bravery and history of soldiers who served in the region. Continue to the peaceful Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. From there, witness the breathtaking Sangam (Indus–Zanskar Confluence), where the emerald waters of the Indus meet the darker Zanskar River, creating a striking natural contrast. On the way back, stop at Magnetic Hill, a fascinating spot where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity, adding a touch of mystery to the journey. As evening falls, return to the Hall of Fame for an inspiring light and sound show that brings stories of courage and sacrifice to life, before settling in for a comfortable overnight stay in Leh.

DAY3

Embark on a scenic drive from Leh to Nubra Valley via the iconic Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world, offering sweeping views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. As you descend into the valley, visit the historic Diskit Monastery, home to the towering Maitreya Buddha Statue, which overlooks the valley with a sense of calm and grandeur. Later, head to the unique high-altitude desert of Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can explore the surreal landscape and enjoy a ride on the rare double-humped Bactrian camels. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Nubra Valley, surrounded by dramatic mountains and tranquil scenery.

DAY4

Set out to explore the remote border village of Turtuk, a fascinating settlement that was once part of Baltistan before being reclaimed by India after the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. One of the northernmost villages in India open to tourists, Turtuk offers a rare glimpse into the unique Balti heritage of the region. Walk through its narrow lanes, interact with locals, and experience the distinct Balti culture, traditional homes, and everyday lifestyle shaped by centuries of history and mountain living. After soaking in the village’s charm and cultural richness, return to Nubra Valley for a peaceful overnight stay.

DAY5

Travel from Nubra Valley to Pangong along the scenic route following the Shyok River, where dramatic mountain landscapes and winding roads create one of the most picturesque drives in Ladakh. The journey leads to the stunning Pangong Lake, a high-altitude lake famous for its crystal-clear waters and striking shades of blue that shift with the changing light and sky. Spend time walking along the lakeshore, taking in the vast Himalayan surroundings and the tranquil atmosphere. As evening approaches, enjoy the serene sunset views over the lake before settling in for an overnight stay near Pangong.

DAY6

Begin the day with a scenic drive crossing the high-altitude Chang La Pass, one of the highest mountain passes in the region, offering spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan terrain. En route, visit the impressive Thiksey Monastery, a striking hilltop monastery often compared to the iconic Potala Palace for its grand, multi-tiered architecture. Continue your journey back to Leh by afternoon, where you will have free time to explore the local markets, pick up souvenirs, or simply relax. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Leh.

DAY7

After a memorable journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh, enjoy a comfortable transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport for your onward journey. As you depart, carry with you unforgettable memories of towering Himalayan passes, serene monasteries, and the stunning beauty of Leh, Nubra, and Pangong. Your incredible Ladakh adventure comes to a close, but the spirit of the mountains will stay with you long after the tour ends.
