Overview

The Kashmir Great Lakes trek is a breathtaking journey through the heart of Kashmir, often hailed as one of India's most beautiful treks. Spanning approximately 63 kilometers, this trek offers stunning views of five river valley crossings, three high-altitude passes, and several picturesque alpine lakes in shades of green, blue, and turquoise. Each day presents a new postcard-perfect alpine lake, often adorned with snow patches feeding into them. Trekkers can witness milky white icebergs floating on the inky blue surfaces of these lakes. The trek maintains an elevation around 13,000 feet and is considered moderate in difficulty, requiring participants to be physically fit with a healthy cardiovascular system. The journey commences at Sonmarg and concludes at Naranag, offering an unforgettable adventure through Kashmir's stunning landscapes
